Ink Paper And A Little Northern Magic

Imagine opening your mailbox and finding a beautiful envelope from Palmer, Alaska. Inside is an original short story written by a local Alaskan author - tales of perseverance, quiet humor, folklore, and the wild spirit of the Last Frontier.Printed on real paper and filled with honest wonder, each story offers a peaceful escape and a gentle journey into another world.Along with each story, you'll receive a personal monthly letter from me, Bruce, sharing a glimpse into recent events and special moments here in Alaska. You'll also enjoy a handful of thoughtful extras: a Frontier-style Recipe, an Alaska trivia card, a meaningful Bible verse, Alaska Stickers, and Delicate Pressed Wildflowers from the North - plus an occasional surprise to brighten your day. It's personal, not mass-produced. It feels like receiving a letter from a friend who wants to share this wild, beautiful corner of the world they love. This is Alaska Tale Mail--a monthly ritual created by me, a writer right here in Palmer, Alaska. I believe stories and real mail still have the power to connect us in a world that's forgotten how wonderful it feels to hold something tangible in your hands. No screens, just a small envelope full of wonder waiting for you.Your very first Alaskan story could arrive before the next full moon lights up the sky.

Here's a Small Taste of my Stories of the North

The Eagle That Returned Lost Things - People in the quiet coastal town of Seward, Alaska, where the mountains stand like sentinels watching the tide come and go, were used to fake rumors and odd stories, but the one about the eagle started quickly, just a whisper between neighbors. This was the kind of story you mention only after checking over your shoulder to see if anyone else was...

The Annual Moose Nugget Swizzle Stick Festival - Now before you choke on your coffee, let me explain. A moose nugget, yes that's what we call them. It is the polite Alaskan term for what comes out the back end of a moose after it's done processing last summer's willow tips. Round, firm, surprisingly aerodynamic when frozen, and when properly varnished. Capable of holding a tiny umbrella in a drink without...

The Night the Snowmachine Tried to Kill John Oliver - John always said his snowmachine had a "mean personality," which was John's polite way of admitting it hated him. The machine was older than some of the mountains around Knik River and sounded like a grizzly bear gargling gravel. But John insisted it still "had a few good years left in it," mostly because he didn't have the...

Warning:
The Following Image could be Disturbing

Hello, and welcome,I'm Bruce, the creator and the author writing the stories, choosing the little surprises, and folding each envelope with care from right here in Palmer, Alaska. After five books and many short stories that mostly stayed close to home--only shared with family and a few friends--I felt I was ready to let them travel a little farther. Not in a big way, but quietly and personally. That's why I created Alaska Tale Mail.Every month I share a fresh story drawn from my years of working and traveling around Alaska. I've witnessed joy, loss and a few events that made you wonder if I should start carrying a notebook or see a therapist. The stories are fiction, but the inspiration is straight from the Last Frontier. It means a lot to me to share these pieces of the North with you.I hope you subscribe and let my stories make their monthly journey straight to your mailbox.Be Kind and Stay Well,Bruce J Kecskemety
